Restaurant comparisons

What do Chipotle toppings add to the order?

Compare cheese, sour cream, guacamole, salsas, vinaigrette and vegetables using their own published serving sizes, with worked addition totals.

In this guide

Chipotle’s cheese and sour cream are each 110 calories in the printed table, but cheese is a 1 oz serving and sour cream is 2 oz. Their protein and fat also differ. Compare the portion you plan to add, not just the ingredient name.

Two additions you can reproduce

One cheese portion plus one sour-cream portion adds 220 calories, 8 g protein, 3 g carbohydrate, 17 g fat and 220 mg sodium. One guacamole portion plus one tomato-salsa portion adds 255 calories, 2 g protein, 12 g carbohydrate, 22 g fat, 7 g fiber and 920 mg sodium.

Those are additions to an existing order, not complete bowl totals. Do not count a topping twice if it is already part of the named recipe you are comparing.

Small-looking extras can have different roles

Tomato salsa is 25 calories per 4 oz but contains 550 mg sodium. Vinaigrette is 220 calories and 850 mg sodium per 2 fl oz. Fajita vegetables contribute 20 calories per 2 oz. None is called “free,” and calories alone do not establish an ingredient’s usefulness or taste.

For a light or extra portion, the restaurant needs to provide a supported amount, or your calculation must state its assumption. These values describe the printed portions; they do not verify every scoop or local substitution.

These are selected U.S. portions, not a complete menu survey. Extra drinks, sides and sauce packets are excluded unless named. Published portions can differ from the food actually served. Chipotle ingredient sums use its October 2024 printed U.S. table, inspected October 3, 2026; retrieval does not make that an October 2026 menu edition.
