Subway Balanced Meals and Macros

Subway orders are highly customizable, so the named-menu number may not match your finished sandwich. Bread, cheese, sauce, extra protein and portion size all count.

Diet-pattern options

  • Vegetarian: Veggie Delite or a vegetable-heavy salad; confirm cheese and sauce choices.
  • Vegan: availability and bread ingredients vary. Build vegetables on a verified vegan bread with an appropriate condiment.
  • Higher protein: grilled chicken or a protein pocket can provide more protein than a vegetable-only build.
  • Lower sodium: choose a smaller portion, fewer processed meats, cheese and sauces; even “lean” sandwiches can be sodium-dense.
  • Gluten-aware: some locations offer gluten-free bread, but shared preparation creates cross-contact risk.

Footlong math

The official table says a footlong is two 6-inch servings for listed nutrition. A footlong is not automatically excessive, but it is a different serving and may be easier to split or save.
